Jennifer Fan

Jenny Fan loves puppies, young adult novels, and Masterpice Mysteries. She was voted class over-achiever in high school. She works for a legal startup in San Francisco. She spoils her dog Leonard and dreams of running a puppy ranch someday.

Jenny Fan grew up in Rapid City, South Dakota. She took violin and piano lessons and played tennis as good Asian daughters do. She went to Gerogetown and later Boston College Law School to become a successful lawyer.

Hoa X. Nguyen

Hoa loves art, music, comic books, movies, clothing with lots of pockets, and over-researching everything. He spends too much time on blogs and wikipedia. He was raised on a healthy combination of PBS programming and Night Court reruns.

Hoa grew up in Rohnert Park, California, which like Rapid City, has a high capita of large trucks, camouflage hats, and few Asians. Hoa practiced art all day and played guitar (which is not what his Asian father wanted) but he managed to turn it into a career as a web designer and game developer.

Proposal

Hoa asked Jenny to marry him and she said Yes. Then they were engaged.

The Wedding Party

Justin Braun

The Man of Honor is one of Jenny's oldest friends. They were in most of the same classes in high school, and Jenny used to like to drag him out to large social gatherings to force him to be more social. This was met with middling success. He was voted Class Brain. Justin recently moved to Denver and works in finance (but isn't a terrible person).

Sean Walton

The Best Man was the least terrible person Hoa interviewed on Craigslist. He likes archery and surfing, and knows a lot of Arrested Development quotes. He grew up in Santa Cruz and had whooping cough as a child. Today, Sean is an architect and no longer buys recycled cardboard toilet paper.

Jessica Helgen

Jessica is Jenny's best friend from high school. She once slid across the hood of a car, in a McDonalds parking lot, to defend Jenny in an almost-fight. She was voted Most Likely to Succeed. She now lives in Norway. She buys Ninja Turtle toys for her son. Her son has good taste in toys.

Tad Hayashi

Tad's known Hoa since junior high. He likes golf, fantasy football, and video games. Tad was briefly in a sponsored video game clan but they were all crazy and imploded. Tad used to be really crazy but then he calmed down after college. He is now a mild-mannered accountant who quietly manages his multiple fantasy football teams and plays ping-pong at lunch.

Jamon Bollock

Jamon is a lawyer and is Jenny's oldest friend. They met at a spelling bee when they were 13. Neither one could spell two words in a row to win. So Jamon let Jenny cheat so they could get out of the broom closet where this contest was held. Jamon was voted Most Likely to Have a Midlife Crisis. He likes to hike. He is a huge Simpsons fan. In his free time he hikes and watches the Simpsons.

David "Dave 3" Huddleston

Dave 3 is the 2nd Dave that Hoa met in college as well as Hoa's 2nd roommate named "Dave". But he was too good to be "Dave 2" so he got demoted to "Dave 3." He animates gargoyles or something.

Kristen Duke-Richardet

KK was Jenny's partner in crime in and after college. They both have OCD which made them great roommates. She has a cool cat named Mr.Darcy. She works at a law firm that was flooded up to the sixth floor during Hurrican Sandy. She and her fiance, Udom, know where all the best bars and restaurants are in NY.

Rahul Chhaabria

Rahul loves Batman. A lot. Rahul is a project manager at a startup up in San Francisco. His claim to fame is being able to eat two chipotle burritos and a taco in one sitting. But he thinks his real destiny is to become a walk-on NFL wide receiver.

Kristin Davenport

Kristin, also known as German Kristin, is (probably) from Germany. She was Jenny's closest friend in law school. She is also a lawyer, working in Washington D.C. She loves Nutella and eats it out of the jar with a spoon. Her husband is a huge fan of 'Friends'.

Les Jones

Leslie "Stonewall Iron Chicken" Jones III is an engineer. He loves to coldly analyze comedy with Hoa, to everyone's delight at parties. Les played drums in a clown themed r&b punk band with Hoa.

Denise Lee

Denise was one of Jenny's first friends in San Francisco. They met when Jenny was set up with her cousin, and Denise tagged along. Jenny and Denise hit it off right away and hung out almost every day after that for at least a year, eating and shopping their way across San Francisco. Denise is also a dumpling afecionado. She's a product manager at a startup in San Francisco.

Maia Gill-Sommer

Dr. Maia is an accomplished painter and psychologist. She resides in South Carolina. She bonded with Hoa over art, dark humor, and having December birthdays. She is happily married but is not-so-secretly in love with the comic book character Gambit.

Officiant

Steven Fan, Jenny's brother, likes guns, golf, and gourmet food. He runs a number of successful business ventures and opened one of the first Subway franchises in China. He frequently daydreams of driving a monster truck and plowing through the traffic in China.

Ring Bearer

Leonard was adopted by Jenny and Hoa after Jenny had a dream about rescuing animals in Yosemite with a talking dog named Leonard. He was a sweet and timid puppy, who in three short years has grown into a slightly larger, sweet and timid puppy. He loves to sleep, show you how fast he can run, and then sleep some more.
